Worthington 'ohana

The 2010 pā'ina was held on December 18 at the Waikīkī Beach Resort and Spa. The theme, "Nā Makana Makamae" (Precious Gifts) reflects the community service and talent of the 2010 honorees.

Francis "Miki" Bowers Jr. is a graduate of the University of Hawai‘i, the University of Kansas (M.A. in Mathematics), and Ohio State University (Ph.D. in Education). He taught at his alma mater, Punahou, from 1951-1969. He also served as a Colonel and U.S. Army Reserve Commander.

David Kawananakoa is an unsung hero in our annual mō‘ī float construction. He repaints the uprights every year and calls on his associates to help in the building and dismantling and to donate greenery and flowers which he delivers to the building site. PKHCC is a grateful beneficiary of his quiet generosity.

Leimomi Mo‘okini Lum served as a captain in the Honolulu police force, where she worked in the Juvenile Crime Division. She is currently the kahuna nui of Mo‘okini Luakini heiau, where she serves in the same sacred place as did her ancestors.

Robert "Bob" Worthington (1936-2008) was the director of financial aid and scholarship services at his alma mater, Kamehameha Schools, from 1974 until 2003. He also served on the executive board of the Polynesian Voyaging Society and helped to organize the historic Hokule‘a voyage in 1975.
