At the core of our mission is the vision of our patron Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalaniana'ole for the upward mobility of our Hawaiian people through education. With this in mind, we make a commitment to fund the scholarship recipient for his/her two or four years of higher education provided that transcripts are submitted on a timely basis and that the recipient re-applies for the next succeeding year until graduating.

Application Deadline: April 1 for the Fall start of the school year.

Process Timeline: Applications are reviewed by a committee in May/June and recommendations are made to the Board of Directors. Awardees are notified by August 1.

Eligibility: 1) Preference to students of part-Hawaiian ancestry; 2) Enroll full-time in an accredited two or four year institution of higher education; 3) High school seniors or college students may apply; 4) Community service or volunteer work is highly desirable.

Amount: Varies from $500 to $1000 per scholarship.

Level: Entry and ongoing college levels.

Place of Study: Open.

Field: Hawaiian language, studies & culture; journalism; and education are encouraged.

Other: An essay is required. The essay shall address how an applicant will apply their education toward the well-being of the Hawaiian community. Membership in PKHCC is highly encouraged.
